High School Program
Is there a political issue that you are passionate about? Have you ever wanted to explore this topic through writing? This spring, the Brown Political Review (BPR) is working with Rhode Island high school students to help them write about issues that matter to them, and we’d love for you to join! All Rhode Island students from grades 9-12 are invited to participate, and the program is free of charge.
Throughout the spring, you will work with a Brown student to workshop and produce a short article (500-1000 words) through a college-level writing and editing process. This article will be featured on the BPR website and be considered to be featured in the print magazine. If you’re interested in participating, please fill out this application before February 25, 2025. Admissions are rolling, so earlier applications have an advantage. We’ll reach out if you are selected!
The program will include two mandatory in-person meetings at Brown’s campus on Saturday March 1 and Saturday March 8 from 10am to 12pm.
Past articles include:
“Rats! We’re Killing Our Wildlife” by Miro Meek of Classical High School
“America: Guns or Books?” by Ava Nunez of East Providence High School
“Four Years Later: Has RIDE Been Successful with the Providence Schools Takeover?” by Tim Yean of Cranston High School East
