Asian American Political Participation: Histories and Futures

In this video, BPR Media speaks with community members involved in Asian American politics and academia to investigate the historical and ideological mechanisms behind low Asian American/Pacific Islander voter turnout and the widely held belief that AAPIs are apolitical. Structural barriers to AAPI political participation and potential avenues for stronger and more persistent AAPI political mobilization are discussed.
